Why couldn’t my mobile be switched on?
The failure could relate to the phone, the battery or the charger. Perform the following steps:
Make sure you are using Alcatel’s battery and charger, which are compatible with your phone model.
Take out the battery and put it back, following the instructions in the user’s guide.
Charge the phone with the Alcatel charger for several minutes and then check whether the phone can turn on. If you haven’t used your mobile phone for long time, the battery might be deeply discharged. It will take up to 30 minutes to activate the battery. In this case, wait at least for 30 minutes and check again.
If you have an extra Alcatel battery or charger compatible with your cell phone model, you can try using them.

Why couldn’t I make outgoing call and receive incoming call?
It may be the problem of phone, network or your settings. Perform the following steps:
1. Make sure you have dialed a valid number and press the pick up call key.
2. Make sure your mobile phone is connected to a network, and the network isn’t overloaded or unavailable.
3. Check your subscription’s status with your service provider.
If the problem persists, try the following steps:
1). Check if you had activated call barring. ‘Call barring’ means you had barred some out-going call (All calls, International calls, International except home) or incoming call (All calls, All calls except those in SIM contacts, Roaming). If you had activated, please cancel it through “Menu”-> “Settings” -> “Network & Connectivity”-> “Call Settings” -> “Select”-> “Call barring” -> “Select”-> Disable all barring.
(Please note that call barring password is from your service provider)
2). Check if you had activated Airplane mode. ‘Airplane mode’ means you had disconnected with service provider, and you will not be able to make out-going call and can’t receive call. If you had activated, turn off it through “Menu” -> “Settings” -> “SELECT” -> “Network & Connectivity” -> “Airplane”-> select “Off”.
3). Check if you had activated “call forwarding”. It’s possible that your incoming calls will be forwarded to your voicemail or other phone directly. If you had activated, cancel it through “Menu”-> “Settings” -> “Network & Connectivity”-> “Call Settings” -> “Select”-> “Call Forwarding” -> “Select”-> Disable all forward.

Why is there no battery charging icon indicated on my phone when I plug it to the charger?
If the battery hasn’t been used for long time, it’s possible that the battery had been over discharged. In this case, the phone would have no charging indicator when you plug it to the charger, which doesn’t mean the battery is broken. You can charge it for at least 10-30 minutes and see if there is anything changing. If the same symptom persists, the battery may really failure. You need to send it to our repair center.

How can I transfer files by Bluetooth?
Firstly go to Menu-> “Settings” -> “SELECT” -> “Network & Connectivity”-> “Bluetooth” -> “Select” -> “On” -> “Select”-> “Nearby Devices” -> “Select”-> Select a device and then press “Select” -> press “Pair”-> Then two devices pair with each other successfully;
Secondly go to Menu-> “FileManager” -> “SELECT”-> press “Search” to search a file which you want to send via Bluetooth or select a file via a certain path -> “Options” -> “Share” -> “SELECT”-> “Bluetooth”->“SELECT”->Select the paired device ->“Select”-> Select “Accept” on the other device -> The file will start to transfer.
How can I make factory data reset on my phone?
Go to Menu -> “Settings” -> “SELECT” -> “Device” -> “Device Information” -> “Select” -> “Reset Phone” -> “Select”-> “Reset”.
Please note that after factory data reset all personal data added by the user will be lost (except SIM card and memory card), which includes: pictures, audio, video, etc. Back up all useful information before phone factory data reset
How can I use quick settings on my phone?
You can access to quick settings by pressing “Up navigation” key in the home screen, press navigation key to turn to your desired function and press “record” key to set individual “On” or “Off”.

Why doesn’t my alarm work?
The alarm will not work if it is inactive. Set your alarm time in Clock application and then select it. If you activate it, there’s a tick after the alarm item set by you, and the alarm icon will appear on the top of status bar.

If you have a Google Account, any contacts associated with that account are automatically backed up by Google. This means all of your contacts are always available on the web and can be synced to any Android phone which is set up with the same account.

How can I add the number in a message to my contacts?
Use the following steps to add numbers in a message to your contacts:
Open the message -> Touch the number in a message which you want to add to the contacts -> Touch the icon -> Touch “Add” -> Touch “Create new contact” or choose an existing contact.
If you touch “Create new contact”, you can choose to store the contact information to your SIM card/Google account/Phone and then enter the name and related information. Touch to save.
If you choose an existing contact, touch to save the new number to it.
How can I listen to voicemail?
When you have a new voicemail message it appears in the notification bar. Swipe down to access the status bar and touch the notification to access the message.
You can also change your voicemail settings by going to the main menu, touching “Phone” and then pressing the menu key in the top right corner of screen. Go to “Settings” -> Voicemail, and then change your current settings.
How can I switch to mute mode during a call?
You can touch to mute your microphone.
Where can I check recent call records?
Access the main menu, touch the “Phone” app and then touch to check recent call records.
The call log tab will show recent calls. There are three different coloured arrow icons beside a call to indicate the call type.
Means missed incoming call
Means received incoming call
Means outgoing call
How can I hold and answer another call?
1) If there is another call coming in, you will get a notification on the screen and a ringtone notification.
2) You can answer the new call directly, and at the same time the other call will be placed on hold.
3) You can touch the icon to switch to another call in process.
4) You can touch “More” -> “Hang up holding” to accept this call and end the call which has been placed on hold.
Note: please make sure you have held the third way calling service with your SIM card.
How can I silence the ringtone of an incoming call?
There are 4 ways to silence the ringer before answering a call:
Method 1: Press the Volume Down/Up or Power button on the side of your device.
Method 2: Enable the Gesture function by going to the “Phone” app and pressing the menu key in the top right corner of the screen. Then go to “Settings” -> “Accessibility” and activate “Turn over to mute”. You can then mute incoming calls by turning the phone over when a call is being received.
Method 3: Go to menu-> “Settings” -> “Sound” and activate “Silent mode”.
Method 4: Drag the Status Bar down using your finger and then touch the “Sound” icon to change to “Vibrate” or “Mute”.
How can I set a quick response for calls?
You can edit the quick response text in the “Phone” app. Press the menu key in the top right corner of screen -> “Settings” -> “Quick responses”.
How can I answer or divert a call?
The incoming call screen will open when you receive a phone call. It shows caller ID and any additional information about the caller that you have saved in Contacts.
If you receive a phone call:
1) Slide right to the icon to answer.
2) Slide left to the icon to reject.
3) Touch to send messages.
4) Touch to set “Call back in 5(10) min”.
5) Swipe up to ignore.
How do I change the wallpaper?
You can set wallpaper by accessing the main menu and going to “Settings” -> “Display” -> “Wallpapers”. Select a wallpaper source from “Live wallpapers/Photos/Wallpapers”. Select your preferred wallpaper and then touch ho
at the top right corner of the screen. Finally, choose the screen on which you would like to set the wallpaper.
How do I interact with the status bar?
An icon will appear on the top of the screen when you receive a notification. You may also hear a sound notification depending on your sound settings. From the notification bar, you can:
1) See your notifications by swiping your finger down from the top of the screen.
2) Respond to a notification by touching it.
3) Dismiss a notification bar by swiping it sideways.
4) Dismiss all event-based notifications by touching the Broom icon at the bottom of the screen. Some on-going notifications may remain.
5) Access quick settings by dragging the status bar down with your finger and then accessing more settings by touching the icon.
6) Call or SMS back directly from a notification, and even hang up a call.
7) You can also customize a notification tile by touching the icon, and then pressing and dragging a tile to add or remove it.
How can I turn off system notifications such as battery notifications and screenshots?
Please go to “Settings” -> “Apps” -> “View all xx apps” -> touch the menu icon in the top right corner of the screen -> “Show system” -> “System UI” -> “App notifications” -> Uncheck Battery and Screenshots.
What is Adaptive brightness?
You can activate Adaptive brightness using the following methods:
Go to “Settings” -> “Display” -> “Adaptive brightness”.
Or swipe down from the status bar -> touch the icon.
Your screen brightness will automatically adjust to your environment and activities.
You can move the slider manually to help adaptive brightness learn your preference.
What is Google Lens?
Google Lens can automatically recognize and search within the content which appears within the lens. There are 3 ways to use the Google Lens function:
Method 1: touch the “Camera” app -> touch the Google Lens icon .
Method 2: press and hold the home button to enter Google assistant -> touch the Google Lens icon at the bottom of the screen.
Method 3: touch the “Photos” app -> select a photo -> touch the Google Lens icon at the bottom of the screen.
When you open the Google lens viewfinder, the lens will continually analyze what you see to show you results in real time. Options include:
1) Copy text: Try with phone numbers, dates, and addresses.
2) Search Similar Products: Try with clothing and furniture.
3) Identify Plants and Animals: Try with flowers and dog breeds.
4) Discover Books & Media: Try with books, movies, music albums, and video games.
5) Scan Codes: Try with barcodes and QR codes.
What is location API?
Location API is a fused location provider. The fused location provider is a location API in Google play services that intelligently combines different signals to provide the location information that your app needs. It manages the underlying location technologies, such as GPS and Wi-Fi, and provides a simple API that you can use to specify the required qualify of service.
You can use this feature to enhance the device’s location awareness when you turn on location and Wi-Fi scanning. It measures the distance between the phone and the Wi-Fi access point (AP) that supports RTT.
You can turn on Wi-Fi scanning by accessing the menu -> “Settings” -> “Security & location” -> “Location” -> “Scanning” -> “Wi-Fi scanning”.
Note: In order to protect privacy, this feature will not connect to Wi-Fi. It can only determine the distance from the AP to the device, and it can be accurate to the range of 1 to 2 metres.
What can I do when my phone’s screen is dark?
Go to “Settings” -> “Display”-> “Brightness level”, on the slider; drag the slider handle to the right to improve the brightness of the screen.
If there is no significant improvement, we recommend you update the system version, connect to a Wi-Fi network and go to “Settings” -> “System” -> “Updates” -> “CHECK FOR UPDATES NOW” -> “Download” -> “Install”.
Can I use my phone while charging?
We recommend that you do not use the phone for long periods of time while it is charging, as it will harm your battery.
What kinds of inappropriate phone use may potentially damage the battery?
1) Using a non-standard charger instead of the official charger.
2) Using damaged cables or chargers, or charging when moisture is present, which can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage your phone or other property.
3) Exposing your phone or battery to heat sources.
*When you use the official charger to charge your phone, make sure the USB cable is inserted into the power adapter fully before you plug the adapter into a power outlet.
Why does my face unlock function work slowly or fail?
1) In conditions when bright sunlight is behind you, the speed of unlocking can be slow or maybe fail.
2) When the ambient light is dark, the speed of unlocking can be slow or maybe fail.
3) When you are wearing sunglasses or something which covers your face, it can also fail to unlock.
How can I connect my phone to a PC via a USB cable?
When your device connects to a PC, the device will ask you which mode you want to use.
To transfer data between the device and computer, select “Transfer files” mode.
To transfer data to camera specific software on your PC, or when MTP mode is not supported, select “Transfer photos (PTP)” mode.
To disable all data and file transfer connections with the computer and put device in charging only mode, select “Charge this device”.
Computers that use Windows XP might not connect properly, because they don’t have the proper drivers installed by default. To fix this, download and install Windows Media Player 11 or higher which contains the proper drivers.
Computers that use Mac OS X 10.5 or later might not connect properly, because they don’t have the proper drivers installed by default. To fix this, download and install Android File Transfer which contains the proper drivers.
Why couldn’t I use the Three way calling / multi-conference call function? Why does it say “Can’t conference calls” when I use the conference call function?
The Three way calling / multi-conference call function requires network/SIM card support. If your SIM card isn’t activated to provide these functions by your service provider, the device will show an “Unable to conference calls” message if you try to use it. Please contact your service provider to enable multi-conference call service for your SIM card.
What can I do when a warning “the phone stops charging” pops up?
The warning is a normal recommendation message and not harmful to the battery or phone. Your phone will start recharging after returning to its normal temperature.
You can follow the actions below to make your phone return to its normal temperature:
1) It is suggested not to expose your phone in sunshine for a long period of time
2) Close large power consumption applications, such as music, chatting applications, GPS application, 3D gaming, video streaming etc.
3) Reduce the brightness of the screen to lower the temperature.
What can I do when my phone displays a pop up warning of “high temperature”?
The warning is the normal consequence of the CPU handling excessive data, which makes the battery warm. It is a recommendation message and not harmful to the battery or phone even if the phone feels hot.
You can follow the actions below to make your phone return to its normal temperature:
1) It is suggested not to expose your phone in sunshine for a long period of time
2) Close large power consumption applications, such as music, chatting applications, GPS application, 3D gaming, video streaming etc.
3) Reduce the brightness of the screen to lower the temperature.
How can I turn on USB debugging?
To turn on the USB debugging, use the following steps:
1) Go to “Settings” -> “System”-> “About phone” -> “Build number”
2) Touch the Build number no less than 7 times
3) You will see a warning which mentions that developer mode is already turned on
4) Go back to “System” again, you will now find the “Developer options”
5) Touch “Developer options”
6) Turn the switch to the “On” position
7) Activate “USB debugging”
8) Touch “OK”.
What can I do if my phone asks me to enter Google account data after a factory reset has been made?
You may need to enter the original Google account that was used on this phone after you execute a factory data reset, otherwise you will not be able to use the phone. This is the FRP (Factory Reset Protection) function.
If you don’t remember your Google account data, please complete the Google account recovery procedure. In case you can’t recover it, please apply to a repair centre.
How can I perform a factory reset on my phone?
You can follow the steps below to reset your phone to boot status.
1) Go to “Settings”.
2) Touch “System”
3) Touch “Reset”
4) Touch “Factory data reset” to start
5) Touch “RESET PHONE” in the open window
6) Touch “ERASE EVERTHING”.
Warning: this action will erase all your personal information and downloaded apps.
Factory reset with your phone in Shutdown state:
1) Power off the phone. Long press the “power” key and “volume up” key until the logo appears
2) Press the “volume” key to select “wipe data / factory reset”, then press the “power” key to confirm factory reset
3) Press the “volume” key to select “Yes”, then press the “power” key to confirm the deletion of all user data
4) When the factory reset is complete, press the “volume” key to select “reboot system now”, then press the “power” key to confirm.
How can I back up my data on the phone?
You can back up your data using the following steps:
1) Go “Settings”
2) Touch “System”
3) Touch “Backup”
4) Activate “Back up to Google Drive” in the open window.
Why does the music suddenly stop when I pull out the SD card?
Google play music doesn’t support SD hot plug-in. If you are listening to a song stored on the SD card, it will stop after you pull out the SD card.
How can I play music?
Touch the “Play Music” app from the home screen or under the main menu. You will find five libraries in which all songs are classified: PLAYLISTS, ARTISTS, ALBUMS, SONGS, and GENRES. Choose the music you want to listen to and touch it to play.
Where can I check my photos?
You can check your photos by visiting the Photos app.
Photos can be sorted by Moments or Albums.
How can I change the name of my Bluetooth device?
You can use the following steps to rename your Bluetooth device.
1) Touch “Settings”
2) Touch “Network & connection”
3) Touch “Bluetooth”
*Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on
4) Touch “Device name”
5) A “Rename this device” window pops up. Type the name you want and press “RENAME” to save.
How can I turn on Bluetooth and pair with another Bluetooth device?
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology used to communicate between devices over a distance of about 8 metres.
To connect to a Bluetooth device, you must turn on your phone’s Bluetooth radio. The first time you use a new Bluetooth device, you must pair it with the one which you want to connect. Afterwards, both devices should know how to connect with each other securely and will do so automatically.
1) Touch “Settings”.
2) Touch “Network & connection”
3) Touch “Bluetooth”
4) Switch to the “On” position
5) Touch “Pair new device”
6) Touch the device that you want to pair with
7) Create/Check a pairing code in the pop-up window
8) Type/Check this pairing code on the other device.
You can also turn on Bluetooth from the Quick settings. Touch the indicator icon area and drag it downwards using your finger. You can then turn Bluetooth on or off.
